JerryA NOTE FROM JERRY:
Because of my notoriety as a healer and teacher, many have ask me two questions about these excursions into the jungle. They want to know if I am teaching my methods while we are in the Amazon and if I am available for private healing sessions. The answer to both questions is yes, to a point.

My concept for the jungle portion of your journey is to expose you to ancient teachings I've been provided by the shamen I have studied with the last 20 years. Actually, the final class from The Mechanics of Consciousness is taught there. Additionally, my hope is to help you advance as a healer/ metaphysician/ spiritual warrior.

During our time together in the Amazon there will be time for group discussions about your experiences, and questions you have on any subject I, or the attending Shaman, have experience with.

Usually, later in the afternoon or after dinner each night we have found this is the opportune time to gather for group discussions. Keep in mind, you might need time to yourselves to rest and reflect inwardly about your experiences. There is no requirement for you to join group discussions. This is available as time, and your ability to join us, permits. Remember, this is your journey. I wait for you to ask. I never impose myself on you.

What is it like at the lodge? There are virtually no man-made noises to distract you. The air is clean and pure. There are no cell phone towers or microwave emitters. There is only the earth, the plants and the creatures who reside here. It's the perfect place to graduate into the next level of your personal journey towards understanding the divine within yourself. If you've seen the movie "The Celestine Prophecy" you know exactly what I mean.

As time and circumstances permit, Kathy & I will share what we know, as will our Master Shaman, to help you along this path of light. Regarding private healing sessions with me: Yes, I am available as time permits. I've discovered from many years of staying here for weeks at a time that my gift works remarkably well in this environment. It is not common knowledge that most of those I have worked with here have recovered nicely. Being at the lodge affords me the opportunity to work with you during our stay. This is something most of my clients never have access to. This of course depends on the current situation at the lodge, and my schedule.

Finally, if you are interested in the Ayahuasca ceremony I have selected a master for you to work with. He is someone I have grown to know and trust to be sincere in his work. Because of this relationship I trust him. If you are unsure or concerned I can only tell you I have taken part in this ancient ritual many times, as has Kathy and our son Bryce, who started working with shamen at the age of 14. Knowledge is more than power. It is freedom. I suggest you read "The Cosmic Serpent" by Jeremy Narby for a scientific understanding of Ayahuasca, and the potentials it provides for a deep and significant spiritual awakening.

There is no requirement, judgment or pressure to participate if you are opposed to this, or simply decide not to join the ceremony. This voyage into the Amazon is not strictly about journeying with a Shaman. The jungle is full of beauty and wonder, rain falling, and wind in the trees. Many who come here never seek out or experience the metaphysical aspects. They are only here for the thrill of being in the jungle. And that's quite a thrill if you have never experienced it!

Please be aware your flight to Iquitos will depart at apx 5am on December 3rd. You must arrive to Lima, having left the US (or point of origin) to arrive at least 3 hours before this flight departs. This means you will need to leave the US no later than the morning of December 2nd to arrive to Lima no later than 2am December 3rd. Check with your carrier for the scheduled arrival time!!!!

If you arrive early on December 2nd (or a day or so early), you might want to relax in a hotel until our flight time. Please let us know and suitable lodging will be suggested. It will be your responsibility to hire transportation from the airport (very easy, and inexpensive), and pay for these lodgings once you arrive. A detailed map and full instructions will be provided. Personally, I believe arriving a few days ahead of time is a very good idea. Kathy & I plan to arrive a few days ahead of everyone to finalize trip details.

Peru Map to IquitosDecember 3rd
Day 1: Arriving to Lima
> Depart to The Amazon

The first day we arrive Lima, and wait at the airport until our connecting flight to Iquitos. As mentioned, there might be those who arrive early and want a hotel room. Either way, it's important to know you MUST be at the airport at least 2 hours ahead of your flight to Iquitos. Once we arrive to Iquitos we are met by the lodge staff who transport us to the center of the city for lunch at Ari's Burger, a really fun hang-out for everyone traveling through the city. Once finished, we continue on to the port of Bellavista where we  board our boat. From here we travel about an hour up river to the Amazon Rainforest Lodge
.

There is an alternative way to get to the port. Once in Iquitos you'll see three wheeled "moto's". These are 3 wheeled motor-cars that carry people and supplies in the back... sort of like a rickshaw, and are a popular mode of transportation typically used by the locals. The usual fare is around 15 Sole's (apx) into the city center, and another 15 Sole's (apx) on to the port. You'll likely see Kathy & I choose this mode over the bus. It's a lot more fun : )

Once we arrive to the lodge your luggage will be sorted out (with your help) and rooms will be assigned. After a brief relaxing time for fresh jungle fruit drinks you are shown to your rooms. Dinner is served every evening at (I think) at 7pm. During this time we as a group will meet, eat, and discuss the upcoming events, or any issue you feel is important. It will also be a good time to ask questions if our Shaman happens to have traveled with us to the lodge this day. This remains to be seen since I have no way to know at this time.

Day 2 through Day 10
Instead of offering a day by day account of what you can expect I have decided to generalize this unique experience. Things work out differently here than we are accustomed to back home. Everything, and everyone, moves to a different rhythm. I believe this is how we were meant to live, unencumbered by schedules and appointments. This is a more organic way of experiencing life. Whether you are a "Type A" personality or not, it can be annoying at times. Still, I can't imagine things here happening any differently. Once you get into this jungle rhythm  it will seem the world has finally caught up to you, and you'll find things happening as they should... when it's time for them to. With that understanding, here is a brief idea of what I have planned for you.

During any evening you have an option to take a river cruise. Life on the river after dark is much different than during the day. It seems you are drifting through a dream on a luminous black ribbon through trees and jungle sounds. It's magical... an experience you will never forget. Also available is the observation tower. Sitting up there, or lying in a hammock, high above the tree line, is another extraordinary pleasure. In the distance you might see a remote flash of lightening as a storm passes miles away. You will certainly hear the jungle at night from here. This is one of my favorite places to relax. You'll often find me there reclined in a hammock, swaying in the breeze with a fresh cup of coffee...

The alternative nighttime experience is provided by our Shaman. For those interested to explore ancient ritual the Ayahuasca ceremony is offered. If you're unsure about what this is I suggest you do research via Google. Another good source of information is within a book by Jeremy Narby called "The Cosmic Serpent". Briefly, Ayahuasca has been used for thousands of years to enter the spirit world, or extended consciousness. It is a beverage comprised of two or more plants known of, and carefully prepared by, the Shaman. At a time decided by the Shaman this dark brown fluid is offered, and drank by, those in attendance. Though it isn't a requirement of those studying The Mechanics of Consciousness, I suggest it be considered. For a few of you this will be an experience providing you more than years of spiritual work could ever provide. The Ayahuasca Ceremony is offered several nights while we are at the lodge. It is your decision to attend. If you decide to join us for this experience a release form needs to be filled out ahead of time. Please ask and one will be provided.

During the day you have two options. One is to rest - and many who joined the ceremony will need to rest. The other option is to join any excursion offered. While at the lodge you (as a group) will have been assigned a tour guide who speaks good English. It is his responsibility to make sure you are happy, and are offered walks in the jungle, river excursions, trips to neighboring jungle tribes, and day trips into Iquitos. The offerings will be presented during breakfast every morning. It is your decision to attend.

During the afternoons, and some evenings, I will offer healing sessions, advanced information about energy / psychic work, and moderate discussions. Kathy, another good resource, is also available to answer your questions. Having lived in the jungle for a year, and stayed at the lodge frequently the last 13 years, knows quite a lot about the area. Between the two of us, and our Shaman, we intend to bring you to a greater depth of knowledge and experience.

There is also a good chance we will offer a live broadcast from the lodge on our dedicated internet station, Channel-U. If all goes as planned we will make sure you know ahead of time to let your families know. I'm sure they will be fascinated to see the world you have entered!

The last day at the lodge is usually a sad one. Leaving this paradise is hard to do knowing the world you are about to re-enter is so vastly different. We usually leave the lodge after breakfast. On the way back we'll probably stop at a primitive zoo built by local tribes. It's a fun and interesting place where you see jungle animals that have all but been pushed away from the advancing civilization. I also plan to take you by boat to the mighty Amazon river to look for pink dolphins. Of course just motoring out into the Amazon river is quite a thrill in itself! Like most, you'll be amazed at how huge it is at the head waters. Believe me, it gets far more amazing as you head further down stream.

The afternoon is spent wandering shops and markets around the main plaza of Iquitos. At the appointed time we are taken by our trusty bus back to the airport. Once we arrive to Lima we'll stay at the airport awaiting our flights home.

I hope this helps answer your questions about the trip. Of course if you need greater detail please ask : )

You must make sure your flight leaves Lima after midnight. The flight from Iquitos arrives around 9pm. By the time you get your luggage, and check in for your next flight, about 2 hours will have elapsed. Your flight cannot be scheduled for anytime before midnight.

To easily figure this out consider this odd thing: Though we end the trip on December 13th, your ticket should read that your flight is scheduled to leave during the (very) early morning hours of the 14th. Too many have made this mistake in the past, thinking their departure should be the 13th. It should NOT be the 13th. It must be the 14th. Please ask ahead of booking your flights if you don't understand, or have questions.......
